Honest Greens Bermuda has added a new “mini” subscription option for customers seeking weekly, contactless delivery of locally grown, non-GMO [genetically modified organisms] specialty greens and culinary herbs.

The business provides weekly, contactless delivery of fresh, locally grown specialty greens and culinary herbs. However, it has found that its standard subscription could sometimes deliver too much greens and herbs for people living in smaller households.

To address that issue, it is now offering a mini option.

Honest Greens Bermuda said it grows its produce hydroponically in a greenhouse environment. It said subscription customers receive a weekly curated collection, including crop varieties not seen elsewhere on island. Crops are refrigerated immediately upon harvest, packed in insulated cooler bags and delivered within 24 hours of harvest.

“Customers have received produce ranging from red butter lettuces to purple stem mizunas, purple bok choi and other Asian greens to lemon or cinnamon basil,” said a spokesperson. “In addition to the new tastes, textures and colours, we really focus on freshness. In fact, where possible, we try to harvest living produce with root systems trimmed but still functioning. This helps with freshness and thus nutrient retention.”

The standard subscription option is a weekly delivery of “4+ units”, which the company said is ideal for an average family. The new mini option offers a weekly delivery of “2+ units”, suitable for a smaller household or individual.
