Webinar to look at sexual harassment and bullying in workplace
The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce will present the second of a two-part lunch and learn series webinar tomorrow for human resources professionals on the topic of sexual harassment and bullying in the workplace.
The webinar via Zoom at 12.30pm will feature Annette Eve, training and policy officer from Performance Solutions Limited, who will provide human resource professionals with a deeper understanding of how to identify and address sexual harassment and bullying in the workplace.
The Chamber said the Employment Amendment Act 2021 outlines various updates to the Employment Act 2000. Amendments include, but are not limited to, a notable sexual harassment and bullying section that was required to be added to all existing employee handbooks by June 1.
The presentation is designed and geared towards mid to senior level human resources professionals and those involved in updating their company’s employee handbook and/or employee contracts, the Chamber said.
Kendaree Burgess, chief executive officer at the Chamber, said: “Workplace sexual harassment and bullying are popular topics of discussion for anyone running a business in 2021.
“Sometimes these offences are obvious to spot. However, they can also be more covert and difficult to identify.
“Ms Eve will help us work through these not so obvious scenarios and give us tools to deal with these sometimes complex issues in the workplace.
“Many of our members have expressed an interest in learning more from industry experts about these topics as they navigate their own company policies.
“The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce is committed to helping local businesses thrive; connecting them with industry experts is just one step in doing so.”
Course fees are $25 for Chamber members and $50 for non-members.
