New manager for hotel’s Duchess café
Bermudian hospitality veteran Kiwana Spencer has been promoted to the position of outlet manager of the Duchess Café & Gelateria at Hamilton Princess and Beach Club.
The hotel said the senior role on the food and beverage team at the Princess will see Mrs Spencer lead the Duchess team.
The Princess said she will oversee all aspects of the outlet’s operation and support new strategies and initiatives that will continue to deliver creative, delicious and memorable experiences to its guests.
Mrs Spencer has more than 30 years of experience in the food and beverage industry and has been with the hotel since 2000, when she joined as a server in the Colony Pub.
She progressed through the resort, working in all of its outlets, both old and new, from Harley’s Restaurant, Crown & Anchor and 1609, the Princess said.
Mrs Spencer was most recently assistant outlet manager at the Duchess.
Tim Morrison, general manager, said: “I am thrilled to announce that we have promoted Kiwana Spencer to her role as outlet manager at one of the hotel’s newest offerings, The Duchess Café & Gelateria.
“Kiwana is a dedicated and incredibly hardworking performer who, with her team, has made a considerable contribution to the success of the Duchess. Her promotion is a reflection of her incredible work ethic and to the leadership she demonstrates.”
Mrs Spencer said: “I am very proud to have been promoted to the role of outlet manager of the Duchess Café & Gelateria where I lead an incredible team.
“While it may be the hotel’s newest outlet, the Duchess has already made its mark with locals and guests, whether they’re stopping by for an early morning coffee or indulging themselves in a savoury or sweet treat.
“The team and I look forward to welcoming everyone to experience the Duchess.”
