Apply for a bank account in just 15 minutes

Clarien has launched a bank account application process that the company says takes just 15 minutes and is completed entirely online.

It said that the technological innovation is a first for the Bermuda market and is “aligned with Clarien’s vision of enabling clients to bank at their convenience through enhanced platforms that make banking easier, faster and worry-free”.

Clarien added that the digital account opening platform, now available at clarienbank.com for individual chequing and saving accounts, includes facial identification and identity verification, passport authentication, document upload and e-signature capability.

It said that the platform is designed to allow clients to stress less about bank lines and reduce the paperwork traditionally required to open a new account.

The ability to open joint accounts will soon follow, Clarien said.

Michael DeCouto, chief digital and marketing officer at Clarien, said: “We fully understand time is a precious resource for consumers and now Clarien offers the fastest account opening in the market.

“Security is never compromised with this solution. We’ve ensured it meets the highest regulatory standard.”

Clarien said that additional digital advancements across the bank are planned in the coming months including the unveiling of Clarien’s new fleet of iATMs, improvements to iBank and iBank Mobile as well as additional innovations for new clients.

All of it is part of a comprehensive strategy to make Clarien banking solutions more digital and Clarien’s clients more in control of their financial future 24-7, the bank said.

Mr DeCouto said: “Clients continue to demand faster, smarter, safer digital channels to conduct their banking experiences.

“Today’s announcement is one of many to come as Clarien focuses on delivering a reliable digital banking network to make it easier for our clients to bank with us, spending less time waiting and enjoying more time doing the things they love.”
