Two days left to nominate women-led businesses

W.O.M.B Bermuda (Women who Own and Manage Businesses) and the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation are inviting nominations for the 2021 Female Entrepreneurship Awards.

Stephanie Lee Muhammad, facilitator of W.O.M.B Bermuda, said that businesses owned by women should be highlighted and celebrated after the many hardships they must endure.

Individuals are encouraged to nominate businesses by completing short nomination forms, one for each business nominated.

Businesses are encouraged to have their customers, friends and family nominate them by sharing the nomination link.

Nominations are already open, but close on Wednesday

A statement from Global Entrepreneurship Week Bermuda said: “It is a People’s Choice award. Once nominations are received, those businesses nominated will be announced and the public is invited to vote for the winner.”

Voting will be from Friday, November 12, to Wednesday, November 17. The top three nominees will be invited to the Annual Women's Entrepreneurship Day Conference hosted by the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation.

Winners will be announced at the virtual event on Friday, November 19.

The BEDC said: “Our main goal is to not only highlight some of our amazing women who are embracing entrepreneurship, but to also recognise the talent that we have throughout Bermuda.

“It was a successful addition to the virtual conference held last year and we look forward to many more years to come.”
