Stationery Store expands local brands
The Stationery Store and Stationery Store Plus are seeking to add more local brands to their wide selection of products – particularly those created by Black-owned businesses.
The stores said the initiative was an effort to encourage the “Buy Bermuda” movement.
They have “about seven local brands and products” – ranging from calendars to puzzles and candles – among a selection that has expanded significantly already this year, particularly in the area of art supplies.
“The pandemic has encouraged quite a number of new businesses to pop up in Bermuda. We have noticed a few but there are quite a number of businesses that we are unaware of and could very well be a great fit in our stores,” says Janée Pitt, customer experience manager.
She added: “We are looking to the public to help us to find those hidden gems. While we encourage all business to reach out to us, in the wake of Black History Month, we specifically would like to encourage Black-owned business to reach out to us.
“We recognise that there is a presence; however, these businesses are not always given the opportunity to be showcased in a larger retail platform. We would like to offer our stores to be that such platform.”
The stores encourage any brands that fall within the confines of craft supplies, office supplies/equipment, stationery and writing tools, games & toys, to reach out to Ms Pitt at jpitt@stationerystore.bm.
The stores are not accepting food and produce category items.
The Stationery Store and Stationery Store Plus are owned by Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd, the parent company of The Royal Gazette.
