ASW Law announces promotions and new hires

Kim Willey: promoted to partner

ASW Law Limited has promoted Hanno Tolhurst and Kim Willey to the position of partner in the firm’s corporate department.

The firm has also welcomed recent new hires Nikhil Lawton-Misra and Matthew Mason to the firm.

Mr Lawton-Misra is a senior counsel in the corporate department and Mr Mason is a senior counsel in the litigation & insolvency departments.

Mr Tolhurst is admitted as a lawyer in Bermuda and England & Wales and has advised on many of the largest M&A transactions in the Bermuda market in recent years, the firm said.

His practice also has a particular focus on re/insurance and regulatory matters.

Mr Tolhurst is recognised by both Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500.

Ms Willey joined ASW in 2011 after practising for many years in Canada.

She is recommended as a leading expert in insurance and reinsurance by Who’s Who Legal and as a rising star by The Legal 500.

Ms Willey regularly advises clients on all aspects of Bermuda corporate law.

Mr Lawton-Misra joined ASW from Eversheds Sutherland in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he was a partner. The firm said he has experience across a wide range of corporate and commercial matters.

The firm said Mr Mason is a specialist in commercial litigation, arbitration and insolvency matters.

Prior to joining ASW, he practised as a barrister in Bermuda, in the British Virgin Islands and in London, UK.
