Ocean View clubhouse set to reopen
The government appears set to reopen the restaurant at the Ocean View Golf Club full time after several months of closure.
Today, they are before the Liquor Licensing Authority, seeking permission to sell alcoholic beverages at the establishment.
A new food service concessionaire is thought to be in hand, but it is becoming clearer that a decision has been made to maintain the bar and restaurant as separate concerns.
Government MP Kim Swan, the chairman of the consolidated board of trustees of the Ocean View Golf Course in Devonshire, previously confirmed that police were involved when the restaurant was shut down in October.
There has been no full time restaurant service since, although the trustees kept some bar service, through temporary liquor licences.
Today’s liquor licensing hearing will be a Zoom meeting with the members of the authority.
The process of liquor licence applications moved to a simpler online service a year ago.
Previously under Magistrates’ Court, the authority is now under the Ministry of Legal Affairs.
