Carey Olsen presents at industry events
Partner Keith Robinson at Carey Olsen Bermuda Limited and counsel Claire van Overdijk are presenting at the Global Elite's inaugural Private Client Exchange Bermuda event on June 28 and 29 at the St Regis Bermuda Resort, as part of a busy week for the island’s trusts and private wealth industry.
The event, which Global Elite is hosting alongside principal partner the Bermuda Business Development Agency, has attracted attendees from the international private client community across Asia, Europe and the Americas.
Head of the trusts and private wealth practice for Carey Olsen, Mr Robinson will be speaking at a second day session on the limitation of liability when trustees get into difficulties.
He will be joined by the wider Carey Olsen trusts and private wealth team from Bermuda and the Cayman Islands at this year's Transcontinental Trusts Forum Bermuda, later in the week at the Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club, which has drawn more than 100 delegates from around the world.
He joins the discussion 'Global Dispute and Litigation Update', while counsel Claire van Overdijk will be presenting on the topic of mental capacity.
Mr Robinson said: "Claire and I feel privileged to be invited to speak at these important private client events. Alongside our colleagues we are proud to represent not only Carey Olsen, but also Bermuda itself as a leading trusts domicile. It is equally fantastic to see Bermuda once again welcoming so many international delegates to the island, something that our trusts and private wealth sector can benefit immensely from."
Joining them at the Carey Olsen-sponsored conference will be Bermuda trusts and private wealth colleagues counsel Stephanie Bernard and Ashley Fife (current chair of the Bermuda branch of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners) and senior associate Laura Kearns, together with senior associate Oliver MacKay from the firm's dispute resolution team.
