Student entrepreneurs introduce new business ideas
Seven participants in the fifth annual Summer Student Entrepreneur Programme presented by the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation have introduced their businesses to the community with a meet and greet on the lawn of City Hall in Hamilton.
The BEDC said the three-hour event was an opportunity for participants to introduce their businesses and gain valuable experience selling and promoting their goods and services.
This year's seven successful participants are:
• Aaron Lugo, of Lugo's Mighty Mower Lawn Service, a lawn-mowing company that provides affordable, high-quality lawn care.
• Antoine Jones, of Capsule, an inclusive one-stop shop for designer, vintage and local brands. The days of blending in are over.
• Isaiah Fraser, of Digi Portal, a game service company that provides customers with entertainment outside their homes.
• Ry-Aidin Evans-Waldron, of Snkrs Joint, a quick and easy way to get the newest on-trend sneakers in Bermuda.
• Salay Dyer-Raynor, of Captive Cards, which ensures that you will have the perfect card every time. Their cards are affordable, high-quality and completely customisable.
• Taquira Simmons, of Lumineux, a self-care brand that provides affordable, high-quality products. They aim to highlight and promote the importance of self-care, self-love and bettering your mental health.
• Zen Mello, of Zenimations, which provides exciting, animated videos for customers for whatever they need. Whether a commercial, a music video, or a short gif, they can create anything for anyone.
The SSEP is an eight-week programme designed to develop young Bermudians into the island’s next wave of entrepreneurs.
The programme, which started on July 4, allows participants aged 13-21 to learn practical business skills such as earning revenue, creating a business plan, conducting SWOT analyses and much more.
