Sarah Medeiros is the recipient of MJM Limited’s 2022 Legal Scholarship.

Ms Medeiros was awarded the scholarship to a value of $10,000 to assist with her legal studies.

The 2021 graduate of Mount Saint Agnes Academy is currently furthering her studies at Bermuda College before entering her first year of studies for an LLB Law at the University of East Anglia in September.

The scholarship is granted annually to an outstanding Bermudian or permanent resident certificate holder who aspires to enter the field of law and is committed to return to Bermuda to practise. The award may be renewed annually for up to three years.

MJM has also awarded a $5,000 bursary to Jonathan Jervis, who intends to sit the Legal Practice Course next January on his way to qualifying as a solicitor.

Mr Jervis is a graduate of the Bermuda Institute and Andrews University and is presently in full-time employment in the social work sector.

Hil de Frias, director and head of the private client team at MJM Limited, said: “It was a pleasure meeting and interviewing all of the applicants for the MJM scholarship and while all applicants impressed the interview panel, Sarah stood out for her quiet confidence, humility and strong academics.

“Jonathan impressed the panel with his maturity and determined focus on a career path in a specialised area of the law.

“Once again, MJM is delighted to provide assistance to talented Bermudians in their pursuit of a challenging and fulfilling career in the practice of law.”
