EQ @ HQ Consulting has announced the launch of its Bermudian-based board, management team and executive leadership coaching and advisory practice.

Founder and chief executive officer Jennifer Card, a naturalised Bermudian, is an experienced organisational and leadership psychologist, coach and consultant whose advisory practice has previously focused on the US and Canadian markets.

EQ @ HQ stands for “equanimity (emotional intelligence) at headquarters”.

The organisation is closely affiliated with Impact Coaches, an executive and leadership consulting advisory practice in North America.

Dr Card said EQ @ HQ’s practice is very often conducted in close collaboration with in-house human resource and talent development executives.

Its services include leadership development; executive coaching; management team facilitation; organisational well being and burnout prevention; executive team-building off-sites (retreats); people analytics; and services in board effectiveness.

Having recently returned to Bermuda to live and work, Dr Card said: "As with all other business jurisdictions, this is an unprecedented time of uncertainty, transition, adaptation and transformation for many of Bermuda’s enterprises.

“In response to those global complexities, EQ @ HQ has focused on supporting private and public sector boards, executive leaders and management teams with proven strategies for continued growth, well being, and effectiveness.

“I am extremely pleased to be back living in Bermuda, and I look forward to expanding my practice in Bermuda and internationally.”

She added: “EQ @ HQ’s contributions to board and executive leadership development are also critical aspects of ESG, including both as a fundamental aspect of corporate governance improvement and as an enhancement to the organisation’s social responsibility strategies.”

Dr Card said Impact Coaches collaborates with EQ @ HQ to ensure a tremendous depth of professional resources and scalability, as may be required for EQ @ HQ’s retainers.

Key supporer: Sandra Oliver, CEO of Impact Coaches in Canada and the United States

Sandra Oliver, chief executive officer of Impact Coaches in Canada and the United States, said: “Jennifer has worked with Impact Coaches over many years on multiple large-scale coaching programmes for global organisations, and she is an exceptional leadership coach.

“We are honoured to support her practice in Bermuda and the Caribbean region with our team of experienced business coaches and our extensive capabilities in project management.

“Jennifer has made an outstanding contribution to Impact’s ability to drive organisational change and growth through coaching and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with Jennifer in the region.”

Ravit Heskiau, contributing consultant to EQ @ HQ in people analytics

EQ @ HQ recently added Ravit Heskiau as a contributing consultant in people analytics.

Dr Heskiau holds a PhD in organisational psychology and human resource management, and is a professor at the D’Amore McKim School of Business, Northeastern University in Boston.

As an important part of remaining at the forefront of her consulting practice, Dr Card said, she is currently engaged with Dr Heskiau on several funded leadership and human resource management research projects.

Dr Card’s credentials include a doctorate in organisational and leadership psychology from William James College in Boston; a master of science in applied positive psychology and coaching psychology from the University of East London; a postgraduate diploma in business management from Wilfred Laurier University in Ontario; and a BA in political science from Western University, also in Ontario.

She is certified with the International Coaching Federation and as a Birkman Psychometric Assessment Practitioner.

Dr Card also serves as the executive vice-president and as a corporate director of the Canadian Positive Psychology Association, as well as currently serving as the co-chair of the Canadian Workplace Wellbeing Awards 2023.

Her book on leadership and executive well being will be published this autumn.
