100 Women in Finance in Bermuda hosted its first hybrid event this month, sponsored by Bermuda Clarity Institute.

100 Women in Finance is a global network of professionals in the finance and alternative investment industries working together to empower women at every stage of their careers.

Through peer engagement, philanthropic and educational initiatives, the organisation has grown to more than 15,000 members globally.

Members here and abroad heard from Eva Yazhari, the visionary general partner of Beyond Capital Ventures, an emerging markets impact investment fund which invests in companies that have impact baked into their business models.

Ms Yazhari is also the author of a new book, The Good Your Money Can Do.

Drawing on the lessons from her book, she presented seven steps to becoming a conscious Investor, and, how to navigate the spectrum of values-aligned investment strategies and impact investing while identifying and defining true values.

Ms Yazhari provided great insight on the power of socially-conscious investing for the greater good, along with the financial and social returns this approach can bring.

Alison Morrison, managing director & founder of Bermuda Compliance Consultants Ltd. & chair of the 100 Women in Finance Committee in Bermuda, added: “Eva provided a thought-provoking discussion followed by a Q&A session led by Stuart Lacey, co-founder & director of Bermuda Clarity Institute.”

Later, Ms Yazhari commented: “I was inspired by the interest from attendees in finding more purpose in their money, and re-examining the ways in which they can each become more conscious investors.

“I look forward to future collaborations to continue to demonstrate that it is possible to do well and do good – without any trade-offs”.
