Entrepreneur Marico Thomas and his Food Hub’s jobs fair Monday and Tuesday is being extended to Wednesday.

The goal is to hire 70 Bermudian employees for the organisation’s new drive-through restaurant in Devonshire.

The fair is being held at the new Pinky’s Drive Thru at 95 Middle Road, 10.30am until 2pm and then 4pm until 6pm.

Positions open include crew member, cook and traffic co-ordinator. Mr Thomas said all hourly rates for the positions will be $16 or more.

He is looking to open the venue on Monday.

Mr Thomas said: “At the job fair, we are hiring on the spot as appropriate and we’ll get you back in for training.”

Earlier, a spokeswoman said: “We are receiving many responses from persons interested in employment.” She said the jobs fair idea was the most efficient way to talk to prospective applicants.

She added: “The job fair is for all persons seeking employment including new applicants, and persons who have already applied and are waiting to be interviewed.

“If you have already been interviewed, we will be in contact shortly. All applicants are invited to show up to the jobs fair.

“Interviews will be on a first come, first served basis. Persons may be hired on the spot, so we encourage interested persons to attend early.”

Other positions available include cleaners and marketing co-ordinators. The spokeswoman said that Bermudians and spouses of Bermudians are encouraged to apply. While there is hiring for all shifts, there is special recruiting for those able to work day shifts, weekends and on holidays.
