Marsh colleagues donate to Teen Haven
Marsh McLennan has donated $10,000 in gifts, operational supplies and food to Teen Services/Teen Haven residents, the company has announced.
Teen Haven’s residential programme offers transitional housing, counselling, and life skills training for homeless pregnant teenagers, teenage mothers, young women aged 16-25 and their children.
Wendy Augustus, executive director, Teen Services/Teen Haven, said: “We are grateful for this donation from Marsh McLennan. It has been tremendously uplifting to everyone at Teen Services/Teen Haven.
“We are thankful that behind every person in need, there are compassionate organisations dedicated to providing support, particularly during the Christmas season.”
A press statement said the donation allowed Teen Haven to provide Christmas cheer and support to young mothers and children.
Each child received their Christmas wish list, and moms and residents also received gifts.
The donation also included Aquarium passes, bus passes, luggage, toiletries and other operations supplies for the facility, along with a Christmas dinner.
The donations were provided directly by Marsh McLennan colleagues.
Chris Reeves, corporate country officer, Marsh McLennan Bermuda, and chairman and CEO, Bowring Marsh (Bermuda) Ltd, said: “Each year, we seek to enhance Christmas for children in our community, and it is a great way for our colleagues to give back and make a difference.
“We endeavour to reach charities that are often overlooked and provide them not only with gifts but operational items to maintain functionality throughout the year.”
The world’s largest global re/insurance broker and the largest captive manager, Marsh describes itself as the world’s leading professional services firm in the areas of risk, strategy and people.
