The deadline for aspiring young entrepreneurs to apply for inclusion in the Young Adult Entrepreneurial Internship Programme at Ignite Bermuda has been extended until Sunday.

Ignite said the programme is designed for 18-25 year olds who are eager to develop their entrepreneurial skills, gain real-world experience, and unlock their full potential.

The part-time, paid programme will run from July 12 until August 31.

It is specifically designed to empower young adults by providing them with the necessary tools, resources, and mentorship to excel in their entrepreneurial journey.

Participants work one-on-one with local entrepreneurs, gain hands-on experience in real-world business projects, and develop practical skills that are crucial for success in both their personal and professional lives.

Erin Cardoso, a 2022 intern, said: “Going into Ignite I didn’t know much about being an entrepreneur; I had somewhat of a business idea but didn’t know how to achieve it.

“During the programme, I got to hear from real entrepreneurs, learn about their experiences and struggles and ultimately how to take risks and adapt to be successful. Now, I have started my own small business utilising the skills I received being in the programme.”

Ignite said participants will have access to a vast network of entrepreneurs and industry professionals, providing them with invaluable networking opportunities that can open doors for their future entrepreneurial endeavours.

Georgia Rego, co-project manager, said: “This programme offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity for young adults to really see what entrepreneurship is all about, whether or not they already have a business of their own.

“It is incredibly rewarding to witness the positive impact this programme has on the young adults in our community, and I look forward to working alongside the next group of innovators this summer.”
