Seminar on workplace neurodiversity
The Association of Bermuda International Companies is to present a free workshop on Friday on the topic of neurodiversity in the workplace.
The event will be facilitated by Julia Harper, a therapist, chief executive and master trainer who is the founder of Florida-based TheraPeeds.
Dr Harper is a leading expert in neuroplasticity and a corporate consultant in neurodiversity.
A spokesman for Abic said: “Learn what companies like Google, Chase, Apple, and EY know about neurodiverse inclusion.
“Set your company and workforce apart. Increase productivity, profitability, employee retention, and team cohesion. Reduce employee turnover. Be on the cutting edge of this next workforce innovation.”
The workshop runs from 9am until noon at the HSBC Harbourview Centre, sixth floor, 37 Front Street in Hamilton.
Dr Harper is a wife, mother, occupational therapist, business owner, psychologist, life coach & mentor, speaker, and writer.
She holds a BS in Occupational Therapy from SUNY Health Science Centre in Brooklyn, a MS in Occupational Therapy from Boston University and a PhD in Psychology from Capella University in Minneapolis.
She brings all of these roles together to serve her mission of helping people to live their lives beyond limitations.
For more than 25 years, she has worked as a paediatric occupational therapist focusing on creating brain-based therapeutic programmes that tap into neural-plasticity, the brain’s ability to adapt and change.
Her world-renowned therapy centre merges her two models: Hope (Harper’s Optimal Protocols for Enrichment), which focuses on rewiring the brain, and Way (What About You), which retrains the mind to move beyond emotional and thought limitations.
