BEDC goes west to promote EEZ initiative
The Bermuda Economic Development Corporation will host a Sandys Parish public meeting Thursday to promote its role in spurring economic growth through empowering small businesses using its economic empowerment zones.
The BEDC said the free event offers participants a chance to understand better the BEDC's core functions and its proactive contribution to the evolution of Bermuda's business landscape.
A wide range of resources and support specifically designed by the BEDC to cater to the unique needs of small businesses will be explained.
Available will be an understanding of the EEZ initiatives, programmes, and services tailored to nurture entrepreneurship, stimulate innovation, and promote sustainable growth.
From start-up assistance to financial products, mentorship programmes to business counselling, the BEDC provides a comprehensive suite of resources aimed at fostering the prosperity of small businesses.
The open house will feature industry experts, successful entrepreneurs, and BEDC representatives who will share their experiences and success stories. These experts will provide insights on how to leverage the EEZ effectively.
In addition, attendees will interact directly with BEDC staff and network with individuals who share a passion for business development in Bermuda.
Ondreyah Rochester, MSME officer, and officer responsible for the Somerset EEZ, said: "Our mission at BEDC is to unlock the entrepreneurial spirit within Bermuda's business community.
“This open house event is a golden opportunity for small businesses to explore the expansive opportunities available through the BEDC, gain practical insights, and form valuable connections."
She added: "We strongly believe that the tools and resources provided through our EEZ initiatives can significantly contribute to the success of small businesses in Bermuda.
“We invite all small businesses, entrepreneurs and those interested in entrepreneurship to take advantage of this free event and unlock their full potential."
The session, "Fuelling Entrepreneurial Success: A Deep Dive into the BEDC Economic Empowerment Zone Initiative”, will take place from 6pm until 8pm at the Somerset Incubator Hub, Forth House, 68 Somerset Road, in Sandys.
