Jada Rogers-Ingemann and Jonathan Jervis have received legal education awards from MJM.

Ms Rogers-Ingemann has been selected for MJM’s 2023 Legal Scholarship, a $10,000 award, and Mr Jervis has been granted a $7,500 bursary.

She is a 2020 graduate of Warwick Academy and is enrolled at the University of Kent in Canterbury, England, where she has one more year to complete before graduating with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in law.

In 2022, Mr Jervis achieved a graduate diploma in law from the University of Law, Leeds, England, and is pursuing a dual Legal Practice Course and master’s in law degree.

He is a graduate of the Bermuda Institute and Andrews University, where he earned a Master of Social Work degree.

Jeremy Leese, director and head of the corporate & finance team at MJM, said: “It was wonderful to meet and speak with the group of intelligent young Bermudian students who made the shortlist for the MJM Scholarship.

“While all applicants had their merits, Jada impressed us most with her excellent written work, thoughtful manner in interview and impressive academic record.

“Jonathan has a confidence and maturity that shines through and, allied to a hard-working and determined demeanour, this marks him out as a student with a laser focus on shaping a future in the legal profession in Bermuda.”

Mr Leese added: “As a firm, MJM is delighted to continue to provide financial assistance to some of the brightest talent Bermuda has to offer, to enable them to further their studies, so that they may proceed to the next stage in their ambition to carve out a long and successful career in the practice of law.”

MJM’s annual Legal Scholarship is granted to an outstanding Bermudian or Permanent Resident Certificate holder who aspires to enter the field of law and is committed to return to Bermuda to practise.

The scholarship is renewable subject to satisfactory academic progress and other conditions, for up to four years.
