Kwame Naylor selected as 2023 Axa XL scholar
Warwick Academy head boy Kwame Naylor has received a full scholarship from Axa XL.
Mr Naylor will begin studying at Loughborough University in England in September, where he will major in business. He plans to graduate with an accounting and financial management degree in 2027.
According to Axa, the 18-year-old has excelled at academics and athletics throughout his school years.
At Warwick Academy, he consistently made the principal’s list for academic honours, received awards in International Baccalaureate higher-level business, French and physical education. He received the Board of Governors prize for high grades in ten General Certificate of Secondary Education subjects and was awarded a Sixth Form Scholarship for his International General Certificate of Secondary Education results.
During his final year, he achieved a 3.9 grade point average and an IB score in the top 17 per cent of IB students globally.
In addition to his academic achievements, Mr Naylor has been actively involved in sports, extracurricular and community activities.
He has been the captain of the under-16 national rugby team and is now the captain of the under-19 team. He has also been a most valuable player in the Bermuda Football Association under-17 league and now plays for Robin Hood in the Premier Division.
In addition to winning several sports awards, Mr Naylor was also presented with the Denton Hurdle Memorial Award in 2019 and 2023.
