The Construction Association of Bermuda has awarded $16,000 in scholarships to Bermudians, to help them continue their education in construction related fields.

The funds were raised at the association’s annual golf tournament, with title sponsor H & H Plumbing & Mechanical Ltd, contributing sponsor Greymane Builders Supply, together with numerous other sponsors and donations.

Scholarship recipients included Daniel Cabral, who is currently studying civil engineering at Dalhousie University; Nadia Attride-Ramella, who is studying civil engineering at the University of Edinburgh: and, Keishun Swan, who is studying mechanical engineering at the University of Portsmouth.

Simon Tully, president of the CAOB, commented: “This year’s pool of applicants was especially impressive, which bodes well for our industry, and we hope those who did not receive an award will apply again next year.

“Most of our applicants are studying engineering or construction project management.

“It is very encouraging to see Bermudians pursuing these highly skilled professions to meet the future needs of the construction industry in Bermuda.”

The CAOB is a registered charity dedicated to making the construction industry safer, more efficient, more competitive, and better able to contribute to the development of Bermuda.
