Registration open for Entrepreneurship 101
Registration is open for “Entrepreneurship 101”, a multi-week education course hosted by the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation.
The BEDC said the course would provide new and aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to start their businesses successfully.
Participants can expect to gain an understanding of the basics of small business management and how to create an effective business plan.
Donte Hunt, micro, small and medium enterprise officer, said: “When putting together the syllabus for this course, we kept in mind some of the challenges and unknowns faced by entrepreneurs on the island when starting a business, scaling up or pivoting.
“At BEDC, we meet with business owners regularly, so we are keenly aware of how difficult it can be to set up and operate a business in Bermuda. Entrepreneurship 101 is a great way to get a handle on the process.”
Entrepreneurship 101 will cover: making the decision to start a business; validating your product or service; writing a business plan; understanding government obligations; knowing the cost of your business; funding your business; and marketing, operations, and human resources.
The course requires a minimum of 15 participants to proceed and there is a 40-participant maximum.
• Entrepreneurship 101 will be taught at the BEDC office in Hamilton Tuesday nights, September 12 until October 31. Cost is $325. Early bird pricing of $292 until August 29
