Aircare’s Corey Davies earns Trane chiller certification
Aircare Ltd service technician Corey Davies has successfully completed his Trane CentraVac chiller certification.
The company said the two-course training took place in Wisconsin in May and consisted of CentraVac systems operations and maintenance and CentraVac overhaul services.
It added that the operation and maintenance course provided a complete run down of chiller operations, highlighting the key components and critical maintenance areas of CVHE, CVHF and other models of centrifugal chillers.
Aircare said Mr Davies was able to take what he had learnt and apply it to the mechanical overhaul class while also increasing his understanding of what to look for during maintenance to prevent potential issues earlier and save on more costly repairs.
The mechanical overhaul was both hands-on and theory. Mr Davies had the opportunity to dismantle a CVHE chiller, which was identical to units Aircare currently maintain in Bermuda. This course emphasised how precise these chillers need to be when built to perform efficiently, the company said.
Mr Davies said: "The course was extremely helpful in increasing my knowledge of how chillers operate. Participating in the course also gave me confidence in troubleshooting and maintenance.
“It allows me to walk up to a chiller and to know what to look for when problems arise and also helps me to perform maintenance to a high level to keep chillers running efficiently and help clients with energy costs and potentially costly repairs."
Aircare general manager Brendan Stones said: “At Aircare we are committed to providing opportunities for our staff to attain industry certifications and keep up to date with the latest trends and technological advancements.
“On behalf of our entire team, congratulations to Corey for expanding his knowledge and becoming Trane certified. His new skills will certainly assist in our commitment to provide world-class service to all our clients.”
