Ital Juice Café closes
A café in St George that sold fresh juices and healthy food has closed. Ital Juice Café was opened by Kyra-Lee and Jamal Woodley in July last year.
The York Street café was an outgrowth of the couple’s fresh-juice business, Ital Beverages, which is still going strong in their store, at 31 York Street, next to St Peter’s Church.
However, they have now announced the closure of the café.
A message posted to Instagram said: “It is with great sadness that we have decided to close Ital Juice Café, effective immediately.
“While challenging, this past year has been extremely rewarding. As this chapter closes, we look forward to great things to come in the future.”
They added: “Ital Beverages will still be available for purchase in store. We want to thank all of you for your business and continued support!”
Mr Woodley started the Ital Beverages fresh juice business in 2020, making the beverages from fresh fruit.
He had returned to the island looking for income, after visiting his now wife and business partner, Kyra-Lee, in school in Canada, when the pandemic lockdowns trapped him there.
The juices are available in supermarkets across the island.
Flavours include pineapple ginger, mango melon, cucumber lime-aid, hibiscus tea, carrot ginger, and blue lemonade.
