BAS appoints board leadership
Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd has formally appointed Gail E. M. Miller as board chairwoman and E. Michael Leverock as deputy board chairman.
The company said Ms Miller had enjoyed a long association with the BAS Group and brought a wealth of experience to the role. She has been acting in the capacity for some months but has now been elected to the post.
She is a former employee of the company where she was head of human resources from 1984 to 1995 and was appointed as a director in 1996. She has been deputy chairwoman for the past eight years.
Ms Miller recently retired from Everen Ltd, where she was vice-president of human resources and administration for 18 years.
Ms Miller said: "I am very pleased to now take over the reins as the board chair. Given my experience and history with the company, I feel well positioned to work along with my fellow directors and the leadership team to continue the forward momentum of the companies as we continue to grow and expand our services to our clients."
Mr Leverock has been a director of BAS for five years and is an executive-level professional with board and c-suite experience.
He is a board member of the Bermuda Monetary Authority, an independent director of offshore infrastructure investment funds and has served on local company boards.
Mr Leverock formerly chaired the Bermuda Energy Commission and the Professional Engineers Registration Council.
