BEDC offers eight-week course for entrepreneurs
An eight-week course with the aim of teaching entrepreneurs how to establish goals and manage risks is to begin next month.
Think Like an Entrepreneur is presented by the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation.
It will run on Wednesdays from February 7 to March 27 from 6pm until 8.15pm at the BEDC’s main office in Hamilton.
Driven by the internationally recognised, award-winning Ice House Entrepreneurship Programme, the BEDC said, the course will provide a challenging learning experience for all budding entrepreneurs.
The course is designed to reveal new opportunities, ignite one’s ambition and foster the skills that will empower individuals to reach new heights as an entrepreneur.
The BEDC said the curriculum for the course draws on eight fundamental concepts that can empower anyone to success.
Ray Lambert, who previously worked for the BEDC as director of micro, small and medium enterprise is the course facilitator.
He said: "The BEDC believes in empowering individuals to tap into their entrepreneurial potential, and this course exemplifies their commitment to that mission."
Participants will learn how to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, identify and evaluate entrepreneurial opportunities, establish goals, manage risks and build a successful brand.
The course will also aid in developing cross-discipline entrepreneurial attitudes, behaviours and skills.
The course has a cost of $325 but there is early-bird pricing of $292 until January 26. The fee includes all course materials, the book Who Owns the Ice House? and access to an online learning portal.
The BEDC said the course, which runs twice a year, must have a minimum of 15 participants to proceed and there is a 40-participant maximum. The last planned course did not happen as scheduled in September.
