Nicola Bruce joins Appleby as partner
Nicola Bruce, a private client lawyer in trust law and trust litigation, has joined the Bermuda office of Appleby as partner.
The firm said Ms Bruce has a wealth of experience in offshore private client work, including many years practising in Bermuda.
She has acted for some of the world’s highest net-worth international families on complex matters including the establishment, amendment and restructuring of trusts, and transactions involving substantial business assets held in trust.
Appleby said her experience also includes charitable and philanthropic trusts, and establishing and advising commercial purpose trusts, particularly in the insurance sector.
It added that Ms Bruce also has extensive experience in pensions work, both onshore and offshore, having advised a pensions regulatory body and some of the largest pension schemes in the world.
Ms Bruce said: “I am extremely excited to be returning to Bermuda and starting the next chapter in my career in the internationally renowned private client and trusts team at Appleby, to which I will contribute the insight gained from my extensive experience acting as a private client lawyer and trustee director.
“I look forward to providing an exceptional level of service to the clients of this dynamic and prestigious law firm.”
Brad Adderley, Bermuda managing partner, added: “We are delighted to welcome Nicola back to Bermuda, and to have her join Appleby.
“Nicola has an impressive and extensive background in private client work, on both the contentious and non-contentious side, and will be a big contributor to our already highly regarded private client and trusts expertise.”
