BEDC celebrates second expo in Sandys
The Bermuda Economic Development Corporation is calling its annual Small Business Expo a success.
This event, the second of its kind held in the Somerset Economic Empowerment Zone, promoted small business growth by bringing together hundreds of new and existing entrepreneurs and industry experts.
The expo served as a platform for networking, sharing expertise and gaining insights.
“Seeing the engagement and interaction at this year’s expo was quite encouraging,” BEDC officer Ondreyah Rochester said. “It was a meaningful opportunity for entrepreneurs and business owners to connect and share insights. The positive responses we have received so far are a testament to the value of this event and we are already planning for the next one.”
Panel discussions on topics such as shipping, culinary commerce, payment processing, telecoms, and cybersecurity for small businesses, aimed to equip attendees with practical knowledge and business strategies.
The expo showcased diverse businesses and service providers essential for the small business ecosystem, including LiveNet, Cox Hallett Wilkinson, and the Department of Labour.
One Communications was the main sponsor and Butterfield, the community sponsor.
“Their support was crucial to the event’s success, providing vital resources to the small business sector,” the BEDC said. “We are grateful for their partnership and contribution to the event’s positive outcome.”
