Yan-Xia Rogers joins Carey Olsen
Bermudian lawyer Yan-Xia Rogers has joined the corporate team at law firm Carey Olsen.
She will specialise in corporate and commercial law, advising clients on a range of cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance matters.
Having moved to London in 2020, the firm said, Ms Rogers worked for a year as a paralegal at Broadgate Legal before training as a solicitor at Kennedys Law LLP in London, with a focus on regulatory, corporate, product liability law and insurance litigation.
She was admitted to practice law in England and Wales in 2023, after obtaining her LLM Legal Practice and her LLB in Law.
Ms Rogers said: "I am very grateful for this opportunity to continue developing the skills I have learnt in London within Carey Olsen's leading corporate practice in Bermuda.
“Not only is it exciting to return home, but I look forward to working alongside my new team and to practising law in a new jurisdiction."
Carey Olsen Bermuda managing partner Michael Hanson said: "We are delighted to welcome Yan-Xia back to Bermuda and to our growing corporate team.
“Persuading bright Bermudian lawyers to return home is an integral part of our local market strategy, and Yan-Xia follows in the footsteps of the dozen or so Bermudians that have come back to develop their talents at Carey Olsen.
“Yan-Xia's strong academic record and range of legal experience is impressive at this early stage in her career, and I have no doubt that she will become a real asset to the team."
