Jaylaka Matthie promoted at accounting firm Abacus
Abacus Ltd, the Bermudian-based full-service accounting firm, has promoted Jaylaka Matthie to the position of bookkeeper.
Ms Matthie, whose dedication and innovative approach to financial management has been credited as contributing to the firm's success, will now oversee a broader range of responsibilities, the company said.
These include managing more complex financial tasks independently but also playing a role in guiding clients through intricate processes, ensuring their satisfaction, confidence and financial success.
Ms Matthie joined Abacus in 2022 as a junior bookkeeper.
She has an associate’s degree in business administration along with a bookkeeping certificate from Bermuda College.
“Jaylaka Matthie's promotion is a testament to her great performance and the incredibly positive impact she has had on both our clients and our team. She has consistently demonstrated exceptional skill and commitment to the company,” said Megan Nesbitt, the president of Abacus.
“She has been pivotal in helping us to integrate technology into our processes, making our operation even more efficient for our clients. We are confident that Jaylaka will continue to excel in her new role and help Abacus grow stronger — we can’t wait to see what she does next.”
Ms Matthie said: “I am honoured to step into this new role and grateful for the opportunity to continue growing my career at Abacus.
“My philosophy is about providing peace of mind to our clients by managing their financial needs effectively, allowing them to focus on what they do best in business.
“I look forward to taking on the challenges of this new position head-on and continuing to make a meaningful impact for our clients.”
