Applications open for start-up pitch contest

Applications are open for a start-up pitch contest to be held during the International Tech Summit.

The contest is presented by conference organisers Penrose Partners in partnership with the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation.

The event will be held on the afternoon of May 2 in the BEDC offices on Church Street in Hamilton. The deadline to apply is 9pm on April 25.

A spokeswoman said the contest “promises to be a highlight for innovative founders and tech enthusiasts”.

She added: “The 2024 International Tech Summit Start-up Pitch Contest is a unique platform for start-ups to showcase their innovative ideas before a distinguished panel of experienced entrepreneurs, investors, international judges, and prominent athletes.”

Organisers said the benefits of participation in the contest include showcasing the start-up, receiving expert feedback, networking opportunities, and the potential for mentorship and further development of the business idea.

The spokeswoman said: “We are looking for 10 ambitious teams who are ready to take their start-ups to the next level. Whether you are at the idea stage or scaling up, we encourage you to apply.”
