Openings available for women’s empowerment workshop
A United Nations webinar promoting gender equality in the business world has spaces available.
The Women’s Empowerment Principles webinar, facilitated by Imani Duncan-Price, consultant for the United Nations Women Multi-Country Office, is on now until Thursday.
It is being run in partnership with the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation and the Ministry of Youth, Social Development and Seniors.
WEPs are a set of guidelines established by UN Women and UN Global Compact to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace, marketplace and community, which provides a framework to guide all businesses, regardless of size, sector or geography on how to empower women in these spaces.
This training opportunity is being offered to financial institutions and service providers, companies, government partners and others.
Tinée Furbert, the Minister of Youth, Social Development and Seniors, said: “The WEPS training programme is a transformative initiative that empowers our businesses and communities to drive performance, attract and retain top talent, and foster a more inclusive economy for sustained growth.”
She said by partnering with the BEDC and UN Women and the United Nations, the Government is committed to advancing gender equality and creating opportunities for all.
“I encourage all business professionals and community workers to register for the virtual training session on Women's Empowerment Principles 101 and the Gender Gap Analysis Tool for Business Growth in Bermuda,” she said. “Together, we can build a more equitable and prosperous future.”
