Student entrepreneurs to show their wares at City Hall
Six participants in the Summer Student Entrepreneur Programme at the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation will showcase their businesses to the community on the lawn of City Hall at lunch time on Friday.
The eight-week programme develops young Bermudians into entrepreneurs.
The participants, aged 13-23, have been learning practical business skills such as earning revenue, creating a business plan and conducting SWOT analyses.
The SSEP also emphasises community engagement and real-world experience. The holistic approach prepares participants to continue their entrepreneurial journey beyond the programme.
Programme co-ordinator Deshun Simmons said: “As we enter week three of the eight-week programme, we see the students’ businesses beginning to take shape.
“This event aims to increase awareness of the programme and allows the students to strengthen their business skills.
“We’ve been able to assist the students with the necessary exposure thanks to the generous support of the City of Hamilton waiving vending fees for the launch event.”
