The Bermuda Economic Development Corporation is to hold a lunch-and-learn session about the process required to register a business on the island.

“Business Essentials: Step by-Step Business Registration from Application to Compliance” will be held on July 25 from 12.30pm until 2pm in the training room at the BEDC main office on Church Street in Hamilton. A light lunch will be provided.

The session will cover how to correctly apply for a business registration and avoid common pitfalls, as well as understanding the key documents and information needed to officially register a business.

Participants will learn about the types of insurance necessary to protect their business and ensure compliance, along with gaining a clear overview of the tax responsibilities they will need to manage as business owners.

Donte Hunt, director of micro, small and medium enterprises at BEDC, said: “This lunch-and-learn is an excellent opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs to gain the knowledge and tools they need to register their businesses successfully. Our goal is to simplify the process and provide comprehensive support to ensure their success.”

In addition to BEDC guidance, the Office of the Tax Commissioner, the Social Insurance Department, and BF&M will provide representation.

The BEDC said these experts will be available to answer questions and provide detailed information on the various aspects of business registration and compliance.
