Fifty-eight employees of Aircare Ltd have become certified in CPR/first aid, the company reported.

The training, held by Worksafe BDA, is offered to staff every two years to meet re-certification requirements.

Aircare said the classroom-based course covers a range of CPR/first aid topics including infant, child and adult CPR and correct use of automated external defibrillators.

It added that topics covered also included initial assessment of life-threatening bleeding, minor wounds, shock, eye injuries, concussion, head, neck or spinal injuries, burns, stroke, seizures, allergic reactions, asthma, diabetes and hypoglycemia, and more.

Aircare general manager Brendan Stones said: “Ongoing training is integral to our operations at Aircare, and I would like to offer my congratulations to the team members who have become certified and re-certified in CPR/first aid.

"This vital training provides our staff with the necessary skills to assist with life-saving measures on the job and may also be invaluable if they encounter a member of the public, family or friend in need of CPR or first aid.”
