Top 10 employers recognised at awards ceremony
A wide variety of workplaces made this year’s list for The RG Top 10 Bermuda Employer’s Awards, presented by PwC.
The awards are being presented this morning at the Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club.
A corporation, a hotel, a regulatory authority and even a school made the list.
The awards scheme, in its 13th year, acknowledges local organisations that excel in employee engagement, satisfaction and talent retention.
It is based on studies by Global Research, the market research and strategy firm.
Leslie Steede, co-owner and director of research at the firm, said: “Global Research is Bermuda’s leader in market research.
“We execute the employment satisfaction surveys for the initiative ensuring that all Top 10 winners represent the ‘best of the best’ as it relates to employment satisfaction in Bermuda.
“We would like to congratulate all 2024 Top 10 winners for achieving an outstanding level of employment satisfaction”.
In recognising top employers voted by their own employees, the awards showcase businesses that positively influence their workforce and set the bar for the entire community.
Among the oldest entrants on the list was The Berkeley Institute, which was established in 1897, while Bowring Marsh Bermuda had origins from even earlier.
The organisation with the highest ratio of Bermudians to non-Bermudians was the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority. Ninety-six per cent of its 24 employees are Bermudian.
Lancashire Insurance Company was included in this year’s Top 10 list for the fourth time, with employees mentioning the company’s focus on health and wellness.
Employees at two-time winner, and last year’s runner-up, Carey Olsen Bermuda spoke of a respectful, listening culture characterised by clear communication.
One of Meritus Trust’s objectives is to make sure staff want to come to work each day. Staff have called their benefits generous.
Since undergoing a takeover by Dovetail and Co in 2021, Cambridge Beaches has recognised that its growth is closely tied to staff wellbeing.
Sun Life International employees said diversity was very important to the firm, with 70 per cent of its 70-strong staff being female.
Marsh Management Services (Bermuda) Ltd is also on the list with employees citing an inclusive culture where management listens.
Staff at business consulting firm Frontier Financial Services love the leadership team, who seemed to really care about their employees.
A survey to select the winners, is conducted by Global Research, using a proprietary Net Promoter Score that highlights areas of business that resonate most with employees in the employee-employer relationship.
