Court House Squash & Wellness has donated $4,500 to Dementia Bermuda in support of Bermudians living with dementia and their caregivers.

The money was raised at the organisation’s annual members’ Christmas party in collaboration with 30 local companies that donated raffle prizes.

The Court House team said it had noticed a rise in emphasis on dementia care through the Dementia Care Services Pilot Programme by the Ministry of Social Development and Seniors and engaging awareness campaigns by Dementia Bermuda.

Alison Brook, general manager of Court House, said: “Our members’ party is a wonderful event that gives us the opportunity to raise funds for a cause close to our hearts. This year, it’s about supporting dementia research and care.

“Physical fitness plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for dementia patients and our members’ generosity and community spirit can make a real difference.

“I am sure many of us have had family and friends affected by dementia and, together, we can help bring hope and support to those in need. Join us in making this holiday season truly meaningful.”

Erica Fulton, the executive director of Dementia Bermuda, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Court House and its members for their generous support.

“This donation of $4,500 will directly contribute to our efforts in providing essential care and resources for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers in Bermuda.

“Physical activity is an important factor in maintaining brain health and reducing the risk of dementia. Court House’s support highlights the role fitness plays in fostering healthier lifestyles, while raising vital funds for dementia care.“
