Woody’s restaurant to reopen in the spring
Devon Simons and Ryan Simmons will be the new operators of the restaurant at Woody’s Sports Bar and Restaurant when renovations are finished there in the spring.
“They are former partners of Country Kitchen, a popular eatery in the west end of the island,” Woody’s manager and owner Manika Smith said.
“They have been a much-sought after vendor at the annual Cup Match. We welcome them to the Woody’s team and look forward to them serving our community with delicious, local cultural cuisine.”
Wayne and Annaliese Tucker ran the restaurant there under the name Taste the Love for 16 years. The couple say they were evicted after a disagreement over roof repairs.
“It is with mixed emotions that we confirm that we will be parting ways with the Taste the Love team, which has operated the restaurant at our premises for the past several years,” Ms Smith said.
She said the decision had been made by both parties involved, and extended her gratitude to the Tuckers for their years of partnership and collaboration.
“We wish them the best in their future endeavours,” she said.
Ms Smith assured customers that this would not impact operation of the bar, and said the Woody’s team remained committed to providing a welcoming and enjoyable environment for everyone to socialise and unwind.
“The bar will remain open to continue serving our beloved patrons with the same level of hospitality and high-quality beverages,” she said. “We look forward to welcoming back our loyal customers and guests to continue creating memorable experiences at Woody’s restaurant.”
New operation hours will be shared in due course, with the restaurant operating seven days a week.
“Our team is dedicated to maintaining high standards of excellence and time efficiency with great quality of product,” Ms Smith said. “We appreciate the support of our community and thank everyone for their understanding during this transition.”
