Appleby partners to present at prestigious event in Morocco
Claire van Overdijk KC, a partner in the Bermuda office of law firm Appleby, is to join a panel discussion at next month’s Trust and Estates Litigation Forum in Morocco.
The firm said she will join others for a breakout discussion focused on mental capacity issues facing vulnerable clients.
Ms van Overdijk will be joined at the forum by fellow Appleby partner Carlos de Serpa Pimentel, who is based in the Cayman Islands.
He will be speaking on a panel titled Not all offshore jurisdictions are alike, which will examine recent developments and changes in different jurisdictions, specifically around arbitration, confidentiality regimes, and limitations on transactions to defraud creditors.
The firm said: “Regarded as a must-attend event for the world’s leading trust and estate litigators, the 2025 edition of the annual conference will offer three days of cutting-edge discussion and global insight around the latest developments in contentious trust proceedings.”
The two Appleby partners said: “It is always a privilege to speak at internationally renowned events such as the Trust and Estates Litigation Forum. This year’s event in particular is bringing together so many leading experts to discuss, debate and examine the latest developments in industry that it promises to be a fascinating three days.”
The forum will be held at La Mamounia Hotel in Marrakesh from February 5–7.
