A record 57 entrepreneurs are due to participate in the third annual Bacardi Black-Owned Vendor Market this evening at the company’s global headquarters on Pitts Bay Road in Pembroke.

That is nearly double the 30 vendors who took part in the first such market in 2023.

Bacardi said the family-friendly event is open to the community and will feature a variety of businesses, including food vendors, artisans and retail brands.

Attendees can enjoy live entertainment by United Dance Productions, H&H Gombeys and DonQuili West African Dance and Drumming Group, as well as music by DJ Chubb.

Danielle Paynter, director of corporate affairs at Bacardi, said: “As a family-owned company, Bacardi believes in investing in people and communities.

“This event is part of our Black History Month celebrations, offering a platform for Black entrepreneurs to gain brand exposure, new customers and increased sales.

“It aligns with Bacardi’s broader commitment to fostering inclusivity, equity and opportunities for underrepresented groups — not just in February, but year-round.”

New this year was a masterclass ahead of the event designed specifically for participating vendors.

Titled “Bacardi Masterclass: The Power Hour – Fuel Your Business in 15”, the class featured a line-up of expert speakers who delivered practical tools, strategic insights and networking opportunities to help businesses thrive.

Bacardi said speakers Mikaela Ian Pearman, Donte Hunt, Elizabeth Blankendal and Carl Vincent led 15-minute power sessions on branding, pitching, business development and scaling smartly.

Ms Paynter said: “The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with vendors walking away feeling empowered, inspired and ready to grow their businesses.

“By introducing this masterclass, Bacardi is deepening our investment in Black entrepreneurs — ensuring they not only have a platform to showcase their businesses but also the knowledge and resources to sustain and expand them.”

She added: “We encourage everyone to come out, shop and support these businesses — whether discovering a new favourite vendor or simply enjoying the vibrant atmosphere.”

This evening’s event will run from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.
