The MoonGate Group has again distributed its “We Care Packages” to vulnerable persons in the community. Owing to increased demand, the campaign’s day of giving has grown from 100 distributed packages to 200 packages, since the programme’s start in 2020.

Leon Bascome, CEO of MoonGate, said: “Our efforts and contributions are only a microcosm of the true needs in our community.

“However, to many, ‘little becomes much’ and we are fortunate to be a small part of Bermuda’s solution.

“We are pleased to have increased the quantity and quality of the contents of these packages. However, none of this would be possible without the assistance of several of MoonGate’s own HealthGap partners and additional organisations who helped co-sponsor this necessary community project. I would also like to recognise all organisations who perform such Herculean tasks on a daily basis. We thank you!”

Group recipients of the gift packages included Christ Church in Warwick, Harbour Light, Bethel AME Church, First Church of God North Shore, the Mental Health Treatment Court Programme and the Eliza DoLittle Society,

Chantel Simons, business development officer at MoonGate, co-ordinated the event.

She noted: “We are very thankful to our HealthGap Partners with MoonGate Group for joining us on this important initiative for our community. They have understood the need and responded to the call once again.

“A number of our new MoonGate partners have joined in for the cause and all of our partners who have contributed in the past continue to do so. We are proud to support and help our Bermuda community.

“Each year we see the need and demand for this event, listen to charities and their need for additional help. We look forward to continuing our efforts to make a positive impact on our community.”

Organisations contributing included Arnold’s Markets (socks), Butterfield & Vallis (deodorants, body wash, body lotion), Caesars Pharmacy (toothbrush sets), Casual Footwear (socks), Happy Valley Dental (toothbrushes), DaVinci Dental (mini toothpaste), Dayrosia (soap bars), Dowling’s Marine and Auto Service (men’s razors), Hope Health Care (mouthwash), JaNauzi’s/The Salon Store (shampoo, conditioner, combs & hair oil), Newstead Belmont Hills Golf Resort (body lotion), Medical House (hand sanitiser and body lotion), Dignity House (socks), MoonGate Group (tote bags and soap), NewEdge Diagnostics (dental floss).
