Everest names Alex Haines as global head of engineering

Everest Reinsurance, the Bermudian-based reinsurance division of Everest Group Ltd, has appointed Alex Haines as its new global head of engineering, the company has announced.

Mr Haines will report to Emily Davis, the head of global specialities, a division that includes aviation, marine, cyber, engineering and parametric solutions.

“Alex’s proven leadership and deep technical expertise make him the ideal leader for our global engineering practice,” said Ms Davis. “He brings a proven track record of fostering strong relationships, building collaborative, high-performing teams and expanding portfolios. I look forward to working with Alex as we continue to invest in the business to meet the unique needs of our engineering clients and brokers.”

Mr Haines joins Everest from Guy Carpenter, where he served as managing director and head of construction and engineering. He brings over two decades of experience in the construction and engineering sectors, with a background in both underwriting and broking. His prior roles include senior positions at Willis Towers Watson and Mapfre.

Everest Group Ltd is a global underwriting firm with a 50-year history of delivering property, casualty and speciality reinsurance and insurance solutions.
