Fidelis Partnership appoints two to top roles
The Fidelis Partnership has appointed Suzanne Wells as chief operating officer and Erik Manning as head of ceded reinsurance. Mr Manning will begin in April, while Ms Wells is set to join in July.
Mr Manning, bringing 30 years of reinsurance market experience, will be based in Bermuda. He joins TFP from BMS Re, where he served as director. His previous roles include head of insurance-linked securities at Miller, co-chief executive at Peak Capital Ltd and chief executive of Lutece Holdings Ltd.
In his new role, Mr Manning will collaborate closely with Doug Somerville, head of capacity and ceded reinsurance placement, focusing on maintaining strategic relationships, capital markets, retro and index products.
Ms Wells will be based in London, transitioning from her position as deputy UK COO at Arch Insurance International, where she oversaw key UK functions, including operational excellence, underwriting operations and strategic portfolio management. Prior to her tenure at Arch, she spent nearly a decade at Aviva.
Charles Mathias, deputy chairman at TFP, said: “Suzanne’s wealth of experience in driving transformational change will enable us to support our growth strategy with the right technology and operational capabilities, helping us work even smarter and faster when delivering excellence to our clients and brokers.”
Richard Coulson, deputy group chief underwriting officer and chief executive of insurance, added: “Ceded reinsurance is one of TFP’s core strategic capabilities that differentiates our proposition from that of conventional managing general underwriters. We are pleased to welcome Erik and his wealth of industry contacts and experience, and his appointment will strengthen our already deep relationships with both counterparties and brokers.”
Ms Wells also shared her anticipation: “I’m hugely excited to join a business as dynamic as TFP. Operational excellence is an important part of their reputation for true market leadership, and I look forward to playing my part in helping ensure TFP has the right technology and infrastructure in place to empower their underwriters to maintain this position.”
Mr Manning commented: “Having worked extensively with TFP as a broker, I know first-hand the quality of the team and the regard in which the business is held. I greatly look forward to getting started.”
