Stationery Store Plus to close
The Stationery Store Plus will officially close its doors on April 30 after nearly three years in business.
The company announced the closure in a statement, citing “rising supply and shipping costs and increased overseas purchasing” as key reasons the business model had become unsustainable.
“Significant efforts have been made to keep the business operational,” the owners said. “However, the business model is no longer feasible.”
The shop, which opened in July 2021, was built on the idea of “learning through play”. It quickly became known for its selection of toys, games and crafts.
“We have loved being a part of your families’ learning journeys and appreciate our loyal customers’ support,” the owners added.
While Stationery Store Plus is winding down, its sister location, The Stationery Store on Burnaby Street, will remain open and continue to serve the community with office supplies, crafts and school essentials. Some of the Plus store’s fine art inventory will be moved to the original store, with further decisions still to be made about additional stock, the owners stated.
To mark its final weeks, The Stationery Store Plus is hosting a moving sale with major discounts and promotions. Customers can follow the business on social media and visit stationerystore.bm for updates and sale details.
The Stationery Store and The Stationery Store Plus are owned by Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd, the parent company of The Royal Gazette.
