Flawless Rudell Pitcher and Aaron Cannonier dominate motocross season opener
Rudell Pitcher and Aaron Cannonier got the new Bermuda Motocross Association season off to a flawless start on Sunday.
Competing in the 85cc class, Pitcher claimed victories in each of the three races to finish the day on top of the points standings ahead of An'Yuri Persad, who registered two second places and a third, with Quadae Baker third overall after finishing sixth, third and fourth.
There was also a dominant display from Cannonier, who took the chequered flag in each of the races in the Over-30s class, holding off a stern challenge from Ben Zoeller who had to settle for three successive second places. Le-troy Trott completed the podium places after finishing third in all three outings.
There was also success for Tinho Tucker Wall, who topped the 50cc class points standings ahead of Kody Paul and Rome Dill, while Jazuri Easton-Thompson took the honours in the Novice class having won two of the three races to prevail over Michael Maclean and Z’Naz Jones.
LJ Degraff proved victorious in the Expert class, edging out Zico Majors, with Kai’jun Simons third overall. There was also joy for Messiah Baker, who topped the PeeWee 50 points standings beating out King Clark and Micah Desilva.
A’jahni Foggo came out on top in the 65cc class, having recovered from a fifth-place finish in the opening race, with back-to-back wins. Mikah Alves settled for second after three successive second-place finishes with Kayden Turini completing the podium places.
