The Bermuda Karting Club will be paying tribute to the late Maynard “Duke” Soares by holding a Trophy day in his honour at Southside Raceway tomorrow at 11.30am.

As the founding president of the club in 1976, Soares was one of the five visionaries behind its creation and left an indelible mark on the Bermuda motorsports community.

“His passion and dedication to karting earned him a well-deserved place in the Bermuda Motor Sports Hall of Fame as one of the first inductees,” a statement from the BKC read.

“Duke’s legacy lives on, inspiring generations of racers to push their limits and embrace the thrill of the track.
