Jason North continues karting domination
Jason North continued his dominant form in the sixth round of the Bermuda Karting Club National Championships at Southside Raceway on Sunday.
Competing in the L206 Senior class, North picked up three successive victories, finishing ahead of Robert Wheatley in the opening heat before beating Marc Tucker in the remaining two races. Wheatley also claimed two third-place finishes with Jesse Moniz also getting on the podium.
Roman Wilkinson was also in top form in the Tag Junior class, winning all three races. Jason Correia claimed three successive second-place finishes, ahead of Lucas Flood, who was third in the first and third race with Hunter Borland placed in the second contest.
There was also a flawless outing from David Barbosa in the three-driver L206 Masters class, as he prevailed ahead of Richard Walker-Talbot and Jeff Sousa in each race.
The remaining classes were all heavily affected by the adverse conditions with two of the three races completed.
In the Stock Shifter class races that went ahead, Jauza James picked up back-to-back victories, beating Jason Correia in the first and Shannon Caisey in the second, with those two drivers trading places on the podium in both outings.
Tanner Correia proved the driver to beat in the Cadets class, winning both races ahead of Syah Pedro and Ethan Wheatley, while Ryan Burgess and Scott Barnes claimed a victory apiece in the Shifter KZ class.
Burgess also finished third in the second race, while Stephen Corrado and Blake Horseman claimed runner-up finishes. Ryan Rebello also earned a podium place in the first heat.
Jayden Brimmer and Nathan DeCosta shared the spoils with a win each in the Tag Senior class ahead of Brian Bulhoes. Brimmer also finished third in heat two, with William Dunkley doing likewise in the opening outing.
