Ryan Burgess stars at karting meet
Ryan Burgess showed his karting class by dominating the Tag division at the Bermuda Karting Association’s ninth meeting of the season at Southside on Sunday.
Burgess won all three heats in the nine-driver class to come out on top, beating Brian Bulhoes into the runner-up spot in the first two heats, with Nathan DeCosta finishing second in heat three.
Bulhoes finished runner-up overall after finishing level on points with DeCosta but edged the second spot on the podium on countback.
Jason “Skuzzie” North came close to completing a clean sweep in the L206 class but was beaten in second place by Brian Bulhoes in the last of the three heats. Bulhoes finished runner-up overall, with Marc Tucker securing a podium finish after finishing third in every contest.
Blake Horseman was also one leg away from a sweep in the Shifter Class after taking the first two heats, but he could only finish third in heat three behind David Selley.
Ryan Rebello took second overall after finishing third in the opening two heats and second in the final race, with Selley taking third spot despite finishing last in the second heat.
Tanner Correia continued to show his dominance in the Cadets class, winning all three races. He occupied top spot on the podium ahead of Jonathan Linberg, who recorded two second-place finishes and a third, and With Alondro Albouy taking third place on countback from Jacob Garrett.
