Nathan DeCosta dominates as karting season comes to end
Nathan DeCosta and David Selley dominated their classes as the Bermuda Karting Association season drew to a close on Sunday at Southside.
DeCosta won all three races in the Tag class, with Blake Horseman probably sick of the sight of the back of DeCosta’s kart by the end of the day after finishing runner-up in every contest. Marc Tucker finished third in heats two and three with Ryan Burgess finishing third in the opener.
Syah Pedro won all three heats in the junior Tag division, beating Ethan Wheatley in the opening race and Alondro Albouy in heat three after getting a solo in the second contest.
Selley edged out Shannon Caisey in all three races in the Shifter class, with Jason Correia, Stephen Corrado and Jorja Thomas completing the podium places in races one to three respectively.
Tanner Corriea won all three Cadets contests with Albouy finishing runner-up in the first two races and Jonathan Linberg coming home second in the final contest.
The most competitive series came in the hotly contested L206, which featured 12 drivers going at it on the track.
David Barbosa came out as champion on the day after finish runner-up in the opening two races and tacking the checkered flag first in the series finale.
Scott Barnes, making a rare appearance in local competition, finished second overall after finishing fourth in race one, picking up the victory in race two and coming home in the runner-up spot in race three.
Brian Bulhoes was third overall after taking the win in the opening contest, finishing sixth in the second race and third in the closing event.
