Railway Trail section to be one way for golf tournament

Ready for action: Port Royal Golf Club hosts the Bermuda Championships PGA tour event at the end of the month and a Railway Trail one way system will be used for the event (File photograph)

A West End stretch of the Railway Trail will be one-way for a golf tournament later this month, the public works ministry said today.

The area affected runs from the White Hill Field gateway in Southampton to Tribe Road No. 5 for the PGA Bermuda Championship Tournament.

The tournament will be held at the Port Royal Golf Course between October 26 and November 1.

A ministry spokesman said: “The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full co-operation of the motoring public and apologises for any inconvenience that may result.”

Anyone with questions on the temporary change should contact Ricardo Graham-Ward at the Ministry of Public Works on 501-3122.
